News: Sadler's Wells Autumn season

Sadler’s Wells Autumn season ins now on sale. Highlights of another packed programme include See the Music, Hear the Dance a collaboration with pianist, conductor, composer Thomas Adès with choreographers Wayne McGregor, Crystal Pite, Karole Armitage and Alexander Whitley; Sylvie Guillem in Push (with Russell Maliphant) and Sacred Monsters – her collaboration with Akram Khan; Khan’s long awaited collaboration with flamenco artist Israel Galvin; a collaboration between Mark Baldwin and South African group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, featuring dancers from Baldwin’s company Rambert and the Royal Ballet; a new work from the Balletboyz and at Christmas, the first London showings of Arthur Pita’s The Little Match Girl.

There are also several short seasons within the programme. Northern Light showcases dance created by established and emerging contemporary artists from Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark and Norway – and includes the Cullberg Ballet as well as the Royal Swedish Ballet in Mats Ek’s Juliet and Romeo. Over four days in September the Elixir Festival will celebrate lifelong creativity and the contribution of older artists and running from May 2014 to March 2015 =dance is a new series of inclusive dance featuring some of the most exciting and innovative work created and performed by deaf and disabled artists – starting with Stopgap Dance Company next week (13 & 14 May). Collaborations with Dance Umbrella include the French Canadian Le Patin Libre, bringing contemporary dance to the ice rink at Alexandra Palace.
