Popin’ Pete’s Pop Shop is a world-class cultural takeover of empty public space. The Pop Shop has been taking place in London annually since 2013 and this August returns to Londonewcastle Project Space in Shoreditch. American artist Popin’ Pete is from the Electric Boogaloos – star of iconic dance movie Breakin’, Michael Jackson’s Thriller video and Chris Brown’s Yeah x 3 music video, and this will be his only UK visit this year.

This unique dance experience with one of the most respected pioneers of the popping dance style includes workshops, daily open practice, DJs, graffiti murals, talks and Soul Train inspired parties.

On 12 August, to coincide with the United Nations’ International Youth Day, the Pop Shop will be handed over to 11-18 year olds. Participating youth will
travel from non-London partner cities (Nottingham, Leeds and Plymouth) as well as Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Lambeth, Southwark and beyond, to animate the 3000 square foot gallery with workshops, art, DJs and parties for the whole family.

If you’re interested in heading along to take part in the fun and meet Popin’, Pete, book your free place by emailing – places are limited.
Tickets on the Door cost £2
