Friday 27 February 2015

Comic Relief are holding their biggest event ever for Red Nose Day – The First Comic Relief Danceathon. Join Claudia Winkleman and celebrity friends, including Zoe Ball, Rufus Hound and Jo Whiley, for six hours of sponsored dancing at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Sunday 8th March from 12pm. All money raised will go towards helping people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across Africa.

2000 lucky people will be following along with 12 of the nation’s best dance instructors, including Arlene Phillips and Adam Garcia. They’ll be on stage, changing styles every 30 minutes from Ballroom to Funk, Musical Theatre to Michael Jackson, 70s Disco to 90s Rave. Don’t panic – all moves will be at beginner level. This is an event for all ages and all dancing abilities

Six hours, 12 different dancing styles, all of them simple but fabulous – Get involved and dance to change the world!

If you can’t make the event at Wembley, you can still dance along for the whole six hours and raise money by following live on your TV on the BBC Red Button.
Or organise your own sponsored Danceathon with friends and family in your home, gym or workplace. There’s lots of great ideas to help you set up your event in the free Danceathon fundraising kit.
