News: BBC Young Dancer Final 2015 - the line up

The full line up for the Grand Final of BBC Young Dancer, taking place at Sadler’s Wells this evening (and broadcast live on BBC2 from 7pm) has been revealed following the broadcast of the Ballet Final last night.

Archie Sullivan (18, London) joins other category finalists Vidya Patel (19), from Birmingham (South Asian); Harry Barnes (18), from Wirral (Hip Hop) and Jacob O’Connell (17) from Swindon (Contemporary). They are joined by two ‘wild card’ judges choices – Connor Scott from Northumberland (Contemporary) and Kieran Lai from Essex (Hip Hop).

Each Finalist will perform the world premiere of a new piece created for them by leading young choreographers: Tony Adigun (Hip Hop), Alexander Whitley (Contemporary), Kristen McNally (Ballet), Brooke Milliner (Hip Hop), Patricia Okenwa (Contemporary) and Urja Desai Thakore (South Asian).

The Grand Final will be presented by Zoe Ball and Clemency Burton-Hill, with former Royal Ballet Principal Darcey Bussell.

The Finalists will perform in front of a panel of leading dance experts: Artistic Director of New Adventures, Choreographer and Director Matthew Bourne, Artistic Director of ZFin Malta Mavin Khoo, Choreographer and Director Wayne McGregor, English National Ballet Artistic Director Tamara Rojo, Dancer and Choreographer Kenrick Sandy, and Alistair Spalding, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of Sadler’s Wells.
